Felix sweeps to FA1 pole at Monza

Felix has handed Team Sweden its first-ever FA1 pole position by going fastest in Friday’s qualifying session at Monza.

Felix out-paced regular AutoGP frontrunner Sergio Campana by a tenth of a second to lap the Italian Grand Prix venue in 1m35.873s, with third-placed Nigel Melker (Team Netherlands) a further three tenths behind.

In doing so, Felix will lead the field away at the start of the opening 30-minute race of the meeting, with a second qualifying session taking place tomorrow morning to set up the grid for Sunday’s Race 2.

Earlier today, Felix also topped both of the free practice sessions, giving him a clean-sweep of P1 lock-outs so far this weekend.

The FA1 cars are achieving top speeds in excess of 300 km/h at Monza.

“Things have felt very comfortable all through the day, and we’ve been fastest in every session so far. It’s such a pleasure to drive a car that’s doesn’t require too much fine-tuning, and which is actually pretty straightforward to set up. Qualifying wasn’t perfect and there is still more to come, but being on pole with Team Sweden is a great feeling – particularly on this special day!”
